Most Never Finish the First Draft of Their Book. Here's How to Beat the Odds.

The problem with writing a book isn't talent or time. It's finishing. Here's what actually gets a first draft done.

If you know me, you know I love writing. But what I love even more is helping others improve their writing.

Sometimes that simply means helping someone get through the writing process. A lot of people who start their books never finish them or even reach the end of that first draft. Most of the time, writing the first draft takes months. Helping someone get through it in three or four days is a huge boost. It gives them the confidence to keep going.

The way I see it, my job in life is to help people find their highest and best selves, and writing inspiring books is a great way to do that. You can positively impact many people by writing a book that truly makes a difference. And writing will make a difference for you, too, as the author, often in surprising ways.

I’m in the Suite de Romance, the honeymoon suite here at Casa Sagrada. We rent this space out to people running events at Casa, and right now we’re hosting one I’m genuinely excited about.

The event we’re hosting is The Inspired Writer writing retreat. It helps people write the complete first draft of their book in three to four days.

I know some of you are rolling your eyes right now. But it’s absolutely possible, especially when you’re focused on one thing, and one thing only. We help people get into the flow and access what I like to call their divine download. Amazing things come through when they do.

I just wanted to share that with you. I’m happy about this workshop, and I’m enjoying every minute of it. I love working with people who are willing to move forward and do something, and writing a book is a very big something.
